What We Believe

Confession of Faith

1. We believe in the Trinity

that in the one trueGod, there are three equal, eternal, andpersonal distinctions know as Father, Son, andHoly Spirit. (1 John 5:7; 2 Corinthians 13:14;Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19)

2. We believe the one true God has manyattributes which include

Omnipotence,Omniscience, Holiness, Love, Immutability,and Eternity. (Jeremiah 32:17; Psalm 139:1-2;1 Peter 1:16; Isaiah 6:3; 1 John 4:8; Malachi3:6; Hebrews 13:8; Psalm 90:2; Deuteronomy33:27)

3. We believe God has sovereignly predestinated

all things that ever have or ever shall come topass. (Psalm 103:19, 135:6; Job 23:13-14;Daniel 4:35; Romans 11:36; Ephesians 1:11)

4. We believe in the verbal inspiration of theentire Bible 

that it is without any error and isauthoritative in faith and practice. (2 Peter1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16)

5.We believe in the Genesis account of creation

that God created all things out of nothing byHis power in six literal days. We rejectevolution and any other long-age origintheories as unscriptural and unchristian.(Genesis 1:1-3)

6. We believe in the absolute deity and perfecthumanity of Jesus Christ

 that He was born ofa virgin, lived a sinless life, died for the sins ofHis people, and is coming again. (John 1:1, 14;Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 7:26; John10:15; 1 Corinthians 15:4, 20; Acts 1:9;Hebrews 7:25; Acts 1:11)

7. We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person 

that He regenerates the elect sinner andindwells each believer individually and the truechurches of our Lord corporately. (Acts 5:3-4;John 3:5; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19;Ephesians 2:22)

8. We believe what are commonly called theDoctrines of Grace

a. Man is totally depraved in every part of hisbeing. He is completely dead as to spiritualthings, can do nothing that is acceptable toGod, and can do nothing to save or helphimself. (Romans 3:10-23, 8:7-8;Ephesians 2:1-3; John 6:44; Jeremiah 17:9)

b. Out of totally depraved mankind, Godeternally and unconditionally elected apeople that no man can number andpredestinated them to be objects of Hisgrace. (Ephesians 1:4; 2 Thessalonians2:13-14; Romans 9:11-23; John 15:16; Acts13:48)

c. Christ died only for the sins of God’s elect.(Isaiah 53:10-11; John 10:15; Mark 10:45)

d. The Holy Spirit works irresistibly andeffectually in the elect of God, enabling andcausing them to savingly repent of theirsins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.(John 3:5-8, 6:37; Romans 8:29; Psalm110:3)

e. The elect of God will persevere and beeternally preserved by God’s power. (Job17:9; 1 John 2:19; John 10:27-29; Romans8:38-39)

9. We believe salvation is by grace through faith

This faith is the gift of God and the work of theHoly Spirit, and we are saved unto good works.(Ephesians 2:8-10)

8. We believe what are commonly called theDoctrines of Grace
